Does your pet understand English?

Being a Ukrainian, my cat Blackie would be lost in America.
For example, we call our cats using the phrase: "kss, kss, kss" whereas in the USA it must be "kitty, kitty, kitty" (spoken very quickly).

What about where you live? :D

Hi Lensa,

I haven't got any pets I'm afraid, so I can't vote in your poll this time. What about calling cats using the interjection 'puss, puss, puss' (in English)?

Well, I can see that a cat and a hamster are the most popular pets at our homes. I had a few hamsters when I was a child and I remember that I liked caring for them. But I had also one bad reminiscense... When my hamster was 7 months old :-), he (or she, I can't say now) died. Let's assume that it was He, so... he was stiff and cold when I found him. I cried so so much, that my mum was even a little jealous ;-) (she said that I couldn't feel so sorry for a hamster :) ). I gave him a funeral (in a shoes box). A few years passed. I forgot my sadness  But one day I got a book about hamsters and I found out that some of them can hibernate  . It sent shivers down my spine. Has anybody heard about hamster's winter sleep?

Cheer :-))

In Bulgaria we called the cats with phrases "pis, pis, pis" or "mac, mac, mac", or "maco"("maco" we say only once).
